Exotics of Hong Kong
Lamborghini Murcielago
In the days leading up to our normal Sunday trip to Big Wave Bay, I constantly checked the weather forecast to see if we would be spending another morning in the pouring rain. As luck would have it, it was going to be even colder and wetter than our last outing, but it didn’t dampen mine and Morgan’s spirits and we braved the cold, wet weather.
The turnout down at Big Wave Bay wasn’t the best, but that was to be expected. Even though it was raining when we first arrived, it gave our photos a really nice effect (just like when we went to the Ferrari event). Later, we were graced with the presence of the sun for a grand total of 5 minutes before it hid behind the clouds again. At this point, the rain stopped and cars started to leave. While we were on Shek O Road, we had a few nice surprises come down like a Mine’s Nissan GTR, a first generation Toyota Celica and a Mercedes C63 Black Series. Since we never go down to Shek O, we are always surprised when we see something interesting come from there. We were very surprised to see a Ferrari 488 Spider come up as we rarely see those in this area.
After all the cars left Big Wave Bay, we decided to go to Wan Chai and test our luck there. Again, Wan Chai disappointed us, so we headed into Central to go and check out the Four Seasons Hotel. Just as we were passing IFC in a taxi, Morgan turned to me and said, “Remember when the IFC valet parking area used to be good?”
Just as I was about to respond, we saw a Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 sitting pretty in the parking area. We immediately told the cab driver to stop so we could rush over to it.
Out of all the Murcielagos I’ve seen, this one was the nicest by far. The car was finished in a glossy black with the wheels to match and had orange accents on the front bumper and side skirts. It seems we got there in the nick of time, as the owner arrived about 15 minutes later and drove away. Let’s hope this marks a turning point for the IFC valet area, as it was thrilling to see something decent parked there for once.
